The mitzva of sukka is special in that it sanctifies daily life. When eating, drinking, speaking, and sleeping take place in a sukka, they become exalted and sanctified. In this way, the mitzva of living in the sukka is similar to the mitzva of living in the Land of Israel. Both mitzvot envelop us and sanctify our lives. (See 17:11 above.)
This is the important message the Jewish people delivers to the entire world: it is possible to sanctify mundane daily life.
This is why the prophets tell us that in the future, the non-Jews will ascend to Jerusalem to celebrate Sukkot with us. Doing so will enable them to sanctify their daily lives and thus bring blessing to the world.
