About the author

Rabbi Eliezer Melamed is one of the most widely read Torah educators
in Israel today.

He learned in the Merkaz Harav Yeshiva in Jerusalem
under the personal tutelage of Rabbi Tzvi Yehuda HaKohen Kook ztz”l.
For twenty years, he taught Gemara and classes in Jewish thought and
philosophy at the Bet-El Yeshiva, headed by his father Rabbi Zalman
Baruch Melamed. Invited to become the rabbi of the community Har
Bracha, he established the Har Bracha Yeshiva, which he has headed
since 1991.

Under his leadership, Har Bracha has grown dynamically
and become an example of an idealistic, Torah-based community,
which is also integrally involved in the leading social, economic,
military, and educational issues of the day.

Besides being one of the founders of, and the spiritual force behind, the
weekly newspaper, ‘Besheva’, he writes the weekly “Revivim” column,
which has garnered wide exposure and generated impact nationally. A
partner in the establishment of the radio station Aurtz 7, his daily
halakha broadcast gained high listener ratings, and brought the light of
Torah to a diverse listening audience throughout Israel.

His extremely popular series of books ‘Peninei Halakha’ written in a
clear, concise, and in-depth fashion, in a language accessible to all, is
part of his vision to familiarize the entire Jewish nation with the basics
of Jewish law and faith.
