The Laws of the Tenth of Av

Our enemies set fire to the Temple on the ninth of Av toward evening, and the Temple continued to burn throughout the tenth of Av. Therefore, many continue some of the mourning customs on the tenth as well. They do not eat meat or drink wine, wear freshly laundered clothing, or listen to upbeat music. Some follow these practices only during the first half of the day while others continue for the entire day.
