The Flood and Noah

After the expulsion from the Garden of Eden, humanity began to master the art of survival in this world. However, the evil ingested by Adam started to "grow", leading to a wave of murders, sexual immorality, and idol worship. Worst of all was the corruption and thievery of the powerful which destroyed everything good. They exploited nature rather than developing it, bringing humanity to the brink of collapse. With the land replete with corruption, their judgment was sealed (Genesis 6:13). Everyone was to be wiped off the face of the earth by a flood.

While all other people deteriorated into sinfulness, Noah remained perfectly righteous. He was not drawn after the ways of his corrupt society, but continued to develop through plowing and planting. Therefore, God commanded him to build an ark to save himself and his family, along with the animals and birds – a male and female of every non-kosher type, and seven pairs of all kosher creatures.
