A Second Marriage

The ceremony for a second marriage is identical to that of a first marriage. There are two differences though. Following a second marriage, the post-wedding celebration continues for three days rather than a week. Furthermore, the recitation of the seven blessings takes place only at the wedding, not at the festive meals on the days that follow. When we speak of a second marriage, we are referring to a case in which both bride and groom have been previously married. However, if it is a first marriage for either of them, the celebration extends for the full week.
