Minĥa

< 1 min read

Minĥa is made up of Ashrei, the Amida, the ĥazan’s repetition, Taĥanun, and Aleinu. Minĥa may be prayed from a half-hour after midday until sunset. Often this means during work hours, when it can be difficult to find a minyan. In such a case, a person may pray on his own. Since the time of Minĥa is usually during work or shortly afterwards, it sanctifies a person’s work life, which in turn sanctifies God’s name.
